Managing IP Centrex and Hosted PBX Service Quality
IP Centrex and Hosted PBX services provide a valuable
potential source of new revenue for service providers.
There is a risk that existing Centrex customers
may move to in-house IP PBX based systems; however,
service providers can provide a gradual migration
from Centrex to IP Centrex. IP service providers can
attract and retain customers by offering a richer range
of value-added services, and IP Centrex/ Hosted PBX
allows them to offer premium voice services.

Customer network problems can cause severe call quality degradation, and by default the service provider will typically be blamed for poor service quality. Unfortunately, the firewall router between customer and service provider blocks management traffic, making it difficult to resolve the problem without a truck roll.
Leading IP phone and Integrated
Access Device/ MultiService Gateway vendors are integrating
VQmon into their products, which creates a real-time
information flow back to the service provider. This
allows the service provider to get real-time feedback
on service quality and to immediately identify problems.
