OVER IP CALL QUALITY
International Collaboration
Leverages Complementary Core Technologies To Provide
Innovative Speech Processing and Performance Management
Solutions
SUWANEE, Ga, December 07, 2004 –
Telchemy® Incorporated, the global leader in real-time
VoIP Fault and Performance Management technology,
and Global IP Sound™ (GIPS), the leading provider
of embedded voice-processing solutions, today announced
that they have entered into a strategic business alliance
to collaborate on joint development and marketing
of speech processing and performance management solutions
for VoIP equipment and service providers. The objective
of the new alliance is to increase the use of standards-based
speech processing and performance management solutions
worldwide by leveraging the technical and marketing
advantages of each organization’s core technologies.
The partnership also ensures interoperability and
ease of integration between product lines.
“Global IP Sound’s core
strength lies in enabling VoIP services to withstand
up to 30% packet loss and maintain telephony-grade
voice quality or better due to the unique design and
configuration of its software platform, explained
Alan Clark, President and CEO, Telchemy. “Our
core strength is in non-intrusively analyzing and
measuring voice quality based on the effects of time-varying
IP impairments and the perceptual effects of time-varying
call quality. Together our technologies provide a
strong, robust solution for each of our joint customers.
The first result of this new alliance
is the integration of Telchemy’s VQmon™/EP
(End Point) technology with GIPS’ Embedded VoiceEngine™
software platform. Together these leading edge technologies
provide IP phone and gateway venders with real-time
performance management and service assurance functionality
together with sophisticated speech processing capabilities
-- resulting in better than PSTN voice quality for
end users.
“Telchemy’s reputation
as the global leader and innovator in VoIP Fault and
Performance Management makes them the ideal partner
for Global IP Sound and our industry leading VoiceEngine
software solution,” said Gary Hermansen, President
and CEO of Global IP Sound. “By combining our
two areas of expertise, we can offer both VoIP and
emerging real-time multimedia customers a complete
synergistic solution for voice processing and call
quality.”
