May 28, 2004 -- Telchemy® Incorporated,
the global leader in VoIP performance management technology
today announced that the United States Patent and
Trademark Office has granted the company U.S. Patent
6,741,569 for it’s award-winning VQmon®
call quality monitoring and analysis software. Titled
“Quality of Service Monitor For Multimedia Communication
System,” the patent covers several major areas
of competitive differentiation for Telchemy’s
VQmon family of product offerings and further solidifies
the company’s leadership position in real-time
multimedia fault and performance management.
The VQmon technology covered by
Telchemy’s patent enables fast, accurate, real-time
analysis of VoIP calls, generating call quality metrics,
including listening and conversational quality MOS
scores and R Factors, and detailed diagnostic information
on the severity and distribution of transient network
problems such as packet loss, discards and jitter.
VQmon is the first call quality monitoring software
to support Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF)
RFC 3611 (RTCP XR) and the new QoS reporting protocols
for International Telecommunication Union’s
H.323, H.248, and G.799.1 standards. Telchemy has
other patents pending that are key for call quality
and real-time multimedia performance management.
