Leading Vendors Initiate Voice
and Video Over IP Quality Alliance
Alliance
to Further Adoption of Best Practices and Advancement
of High Quality Implementations for IP-based Voice
and Video Products and Services
VON Fall - Boston - September 11,
2006 –Ditech Networks (Nasdaq: DITC), Empirix,
Global IP Sound, JDSU (Nasdaq: JDSU), Polycom (Nasdaq:
PLCM) and Telchemy jointly announced today that they
will take a leading role in establishing the V2oIP
Quality Alliance (www.v2oipqualityalliance.org), an
alliance of communication industry innovators that
will help shape and support the direction of voice
and video-over-IP (V2oIP) quality issues. The new
alliance will combine the expertise of key technology
providers, service providers and industry experts
to define industry best practices as well as help
educate the market about relevant technologies, standards,
and deployment methods.

About V2OIP Quality Alliance
The V2OIP Quality Alliance is a new industry group
comprised of vendors, service providers and industry
experts that wish to increase the adoption of voice
and video over IP collaborating by providing information
leading to the advancement of voice and video quality
technologies and implementations.
The V2oIP Quality Alliance will
include a diverse range of V2oIP solution vendors,
service providers, system integrators, and forward-looking
enterprises—each of whom offers a unique perspective
on V2oIP issues. Vendors will be able to contribute
information and expert content on V2oIP quality. Other
Alliance members will gain a single source of qualified
information and expertise, as well as the ability
to collaborate on new solutions and provide feedback
on V2oIP development efforts.
