Monitoring Service Level Agreements
Managed network services are used to support Enterprise Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), providing reliable Wide Area Network services at lower cost than leased digital circuits. In order to ensure that IP networks meet customer expectations, service providers define Service Level Agreements and manage their networks to meet SLA requirements. SLA monitoring is used by the service provider for both internal management and to generate SLA reports for their customer.

VQmon can be integrated into probes located at the edges of the service provider network. VQmon can be used to either passively monitor live traffic or to measure service quality using test calls. For smaller locations VQmon can be integrated into the IAD or edge router on the customer's premises.
