Telchemy embedded Performance Monitor (TePM) is an active testing and troubleshooting software application based on Telchemy's DVQattest® technology, designed for integration with Juniper Networks' M Series Multiservice Routers and MX Series Ethernet Routers.
TePM active test agents have the ability to generate synthetic VoIP traffic with SIP signaling as well as synthetic network transactions for DHCP, DNS, HTTP, and POP/SMTP testing. In addition, agents can perform IP network and path testing to locate and diagnose network problems. TePM Agents can perform tests using other TePM Agents, SIP phones, network entities (such as a Web server), or DVQattest test agents as a test destination.
TePM Agents use Telchemy’s integrated VQmon® performance analysis technology to monitor synthetic as well as live multimedia streams, and produce real-time perceptual quality scores (including MOS and R-factor for VoIP calls) and an extensive set of performance and diagnostic metrics for voice and network tests. Quality and path records from completed tests are stored in a database (HSQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle databases are supported) and displayed in the TePM Controller, a Java-based GUI that enables users to configure tests and test points, execute tests, and view test results.
