Central Collection, Aggregation, and Analysis of VoIP Call Quality Reports

SQmediator® is a high performance server that provides central collection, aggregation, and correlation of endpoint QoS/QoE reports in a VoIP performance management system.

SQmediator collects call quality reports, including SIP RTCP Summary Reports and other reporting protocols, sent by VoIP endpoints such as IP phones and gateways at the end of each call or at periodic intervals throughout a call. SQmediator can also receive call quality reports from Telchemy's SQprobe®, which collects quality information by directly monitoring the voice packet stream and by intercepting RTCP XR reports exchanged between VoIP endpoints.

SQmediator automatically verifies, correlates, and analyzes call quality reports in real time, stores the data in a SQL database, and reports the information via a Web user interface or integrated Web service API.

Automatic Correlation of Data for Individual Calls

SQmediator creates a call quality record (CQR) for each individual call. If multiple reports are received—for example, separate reports from each endpoint of a call, or interval reports throughout a call—SQmediator correlates the various reports into a single coherent call record.

Convenient Dashboard Interface with Interactive Charts

SQmediator's Web user interface provides a dashboard layout that makes it easy to monitor call performance across the network, and to quickly identify potential problem conditions and view system alerts. The VoIP Dashboard's interactive charts are color-coded to provide an immediate visual indication of call quality and volume, and allow fast "drill-down" onto detailed report data for selected groups of calls as well as individual calls.

Expert Analysis of Problem Conditions

Integrated Expert Analysis technology allows SQmediator to recognize and diagnose specific problem conditions affecting call quality. Straightforward text diagnoses help to expedite problem resolution and can be easily understood even by less technically-experienced support staff.

Real-time Quality Scores and Extensive Performance Metrics

SQmediator reports listening and conversational quality MOS scores and R factors and a wide range of diagnostic data based on endpoint reports from IP phones and gateways. SQmediator's reported metrics and features include:
